Pineapples Pineapples grow well in pots, we have them growing in terracotta pots at Garden Clinic HQ and in a watertank garden bed too. Either just plant the top, the sprouting end, of a pineapple you have just eaten or buy a pineapple plant from the nursery. Pineapples belong to the bromeliad family. Liquid feed throughout the growing season and once it bears fruit it won't fruit again rather it will create 'pups' or new plants that will gradually replace the 'mother' plant. Pinapples need full sun and a warm, frost free position to grow and bear fruit. Each fruit takes two years to develop. They slowly sweeten in the summer months. Ours are ready to eat now and are sweet and delicious, especiall in a pineapple upside down cake (see delicious section of the website)
