What's inside?

Welcome to our Winter issue.

With cooler, shorter days here at home we’ve grabbed a sombrero and headed off to Mexico to meet the locals and their plants. The seed for this adventure was sown when Linda attended the Garden Tourism Conference in Seoul to pick up our World’s Best Garden Tourism Website award for Ross Garden Tours. There she met Bob Price, founder and curator of Mexico’s Vallarta Botanical Gardens. (Meet him yourself on page 44.)

Bob convinced Linda that Mexico was a fabulous destination for plant and garden lovers, and I have to say she didn’t need much convincing!Find out what she found and can’t wait to share with you on page 34, and head to the Ross Tours website if you think a garden tour of Mexico sounds just the thing.

Celebrating our native plants we take a close look at a wonderful native garden in Canberra, share the best of the new dwarf banksias, and tell you where to go and what to see on a visit to Albany, in Western Australia’s south-west, one of great the biodiversity hotspots in the world. And as always this month we have practical know-how covered, with tips on rose pruning, henhouse building and growing food.

There’s so much to enjoy.
